HOTTER DESTINATIONS:

The Caribbean

A romantic beach holiday awaits in the Caribbean during January, with its islands, including The Bahamas and Barbados, generally boasting beautiful sunshine – without excessive heat – and little rain. 
 

Africa

Countries like TANZANIA and KENYA that are closer to the equator do not have drastic seasonal temperature changes throughout the year and generally boast a beautiful warm climate all year round. SOUTH AFRICA is also a perfect all year round destination, and, in January, allows you to enjoy a full 11 hours of sunshine; a true escape from the short winter days of much of the Northern Hemisphere.
 

Central & South America

The coast lines of countries like MEXICO and Costa Rica enjoy fabulous warm weather during January, with highs of around 31°c, and the first month of the year is very much the dry season for this area of the World. 
 

Far East

A few countries in South East Asia, like THAILAND and the Southern area of VIETNAM are fantastic places to visit in January – in fact the month is right in the middle of Thailand’s high season, the country boasting dry and sunny weather, with temperatures often ranging between 24 & 33°c and very little chance of rain. Places in South VIETNAM too, like Ho Chi Minh City, enjoy their most pleasant and driest weather between the months of December and March. 
 

Indian Ocean

Not all islands in the Indian Ocean are ideal for a holiday in January. However, THE MALDIVES boasts highs of around 30°c, and is generally dry, with 8 hours of glorious sunshine for you to enjoy. 
 

Australia

For those looking for a far off beach holiday adventure in the Sun, Australia sees is Summer during the Northern Hemisphere’s winter months, so it’s the perfect place to go and escape from the colder UK weather. January is generally a hot month in much of Australia, with an average temperature of 30°c in Adelaide, 29°c in Perth & Brisbane and 26°c in Sydney and Melbourne. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

South America

Places like MIAMI and Orlando in Florida can have highs of up to 22°c, and are perfect for those looking to holiday somewhere fabulous without the high heat of the summer. January is also a relatively quiet month, so a great time to visit tourist destinations like Disney World without the vast crowds that some of the hotter months can draw in.  
 

Europe

Areas of Europe like The Algarve in Portugal, and THE CANARY ISLANDS, like TENERIFE, tend to have quite mild weather throughout the year, and although January does not necessarily offer beach weather, the temperature averages in the mid teens, making for a very comfortable break. In fact, temperatures in Gran Canaria can reach 25°c in January.

Countries like France, ITALY, Switzerland, Austria, SPAIN – even Andalucia – all boast some fantastic skiing facilities.

AMERICA boasts a great number of fantastic ski resorts all perfect for a visit in January – you can even enjoy a ski holiday in California! Other more popular destinations include resorts in Massachusetts, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.

Northern Europe

Those looking to embrace the enchantment of the winter months will find exactly what they are looking for in Northern Europe. Usually blanketed with sparkling snow, much of the area is very easily reached by the UK, and places like Norway and Sweden are excellent if you wish to snuggle up and see the Northern Lights. Just be sure to take very warm clothes!

February is one of the best months to visit places like Cambodia and VIETNAM, where the weather is at its driest and brightest, with temperatures ranging between 22 - 30°c.
 

Indian Ocean

A destination becoming more and more popular in recent years, Sri Lanka is a fantastic country to visit in February, with temperatures reaching up to 32°c and minimal chance of rain. THE MALDIVES also offers hot yet comfortable weather, with highs of around 30°c, again with a very limited chance of precipitation. 
 

The Caribbean

CUBA is a perfect destination for a February holiday, with the month being the country’s driest and least humid time of the year. Temperatures there can reach up to 27°c. Other islands in the Caribbean are also still fantastic to visit during February, including places like Barbados, which boasts generally clear skies and similar temperatures to CUBA
 

Central America

February is the month of the Salvador Carnival in Brazil, and it is one of the best months of the year there, with hot temperatures, reaching up to around 30°c, and a glorious buzz in the atmosphere. MEXICO too boasts fabulous February weather, with highs of around 32 - 34°c on the coastlines. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

The Middle East

Countries like Oman and Egypt provide the perfect February destination for those after a cultural discovery in cooler climes, with pleasant temperatures in both regions, generally staying within the mid twenties. 
 
 

SKIING HOLIDAYS:

European Ski Resorts

Many easily accessible European countries still offer fantastic skiing facilities into February, including Austria, ITALY, Switzerland, and France. 
 

American and Canadian Ski Resorts

More popular resorts in the USA include Jackson Hole in Minneapolis, Heavenly in California, Winter Park in Colorado, while Whistler and Banff in Canada are also fantastic. 
 
 

Scandinavia

Could there be a more magical place to enjoy skiing than Lapland? It is also a fabulous place to enjoy a husky ride, and February is a great time of year to see the Northern Lights. 
 
 

PERFECT WINTER BREAKS:

Canada

Much of Canada is a fantastic winter playground in February, and with areas like Ottawa offering lots to discover along with fun activities to enjoy in the snow and ice, it is certainly a place of adventure. Be warned, however; temperatures can hit around -9°c – and that’s in the daytime! You must be sure to take lots of warm clothing. 
 

Scandinavia

Although theoretically off season in Scandinavia, many of its countries offer a fantastic winter break during February. Winter sports can be enjoyed in countries like Norway, Denmark and Sweden, while they each also have their own brilliant culture to be discovered. You may even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. 
 
Northern Scandinavia is also home to the natural phenomenon of ‘Polar Nights’, with many areas being in darkness for 2-3 months each winter. This is not as depressing as it sounds, as the sparkling snow-covered ground is shined on by the stars in the sky, and creates a magical atmosphere.

Highs of 28°c mean that CUBA is a fantastic place to visit, and with March still being within the Island’s dry season it makes for fantastic dry conditions. The DOMINICAN REPUBLIC is also very much worth considering, boasting temperatures of around 30°c. 
 

Asia

India is a great place for a holiday of discovery in March; just before the high heats of the summer and the monsoon season kick in. The country boasts average temperatures of around 30°c, depending on the region that you wish to visit. MALAYSIA is also a great destination in March, with highs of around 31°c.
 

North America

It is the beginning of the high season in Florida, USA with temperatures averaging in the high twenties, so areas like MIAMI are perfect for a March visit.
 

Indian Ocean

March is one of the months in which THE MALDIVES enjoys their dry season, with temperatures varying between 25 & 30°c

Central America

March is a fantastic month to visit MEXICO. With tropical and hot weather complimented by the fact that March is in MEXICO'S dry season mean temperatures of up to 31°c around the coast and limited rainfall, making for fantastic conditions for an excellent holiday. Costa Rica is also a great place to visit, with highs of around 27°c and, again, little chance of precipitation. The dry season is rife, too, in Belize, with highs of 29°c and very little chance of rain.

 

COOLER WEATHER:

Africa

Egypt is starting to get hotter in March, with temperatures averaging in the low to mid twenties, and the country is generally dry all year round. The more Southern areas of Egypt will be hotter.
 

Australia

It is the beginning of Autumn in Australia and the temperatures begin to cool from the heights of summer. Expect averages of 24°c depending on region. 

 

SKIING HOLIDAYS:

European Ski Resorts

March tends to be a cheaper time to visit ski resorts across France and Austria, for example, as the end of the season approaches. 
 

American & Canadian Ski Resorts

There are some areas of AMERICA & Canada where skiing is still available in March. For example, some ski resorts in North Carolina will usually still have lots of snow, while Whistler, in British Columbia, is still popular.

Scandinavia 

For those who get excited by snow and snuggling up by a warm log fire, Lapland still has wintry conditions in March, especially in its Swedish part.

Cambodia and VIETNAM offer pleasant conditions in April, CAMBODIA being the hotter country, with highs of 35°c, while VIETNAM is a little cooler, with temperatures ranging between 24 & 28°c.
 

South Pacific 

French Polynesia, or Tahiti, offers fabulous weather during April, with highs of 32°c and limited chance of rain. Not too hot, but perfect beach weather. 
 

Africa

Countries throughout Africa offer some fantastic weather for a fabulous April break. Egypt boasts highs of 29°c, and April is a great month to get in before the tourist stampede. Zimbabwe’s weather is very pleasant, with highs of around 27°c, while April is usually a dry month in Senegal, which enjoys temperatures of up to 28°c.
 

North America

FLORIDA’S temperatures continue to rise in April, with highs of 28°c. It is also one of the region’s drier months. Hawaii, too, boasts hotter temperatures, averaging in the mid to high twenties, with limited chance of precipitation. 

South America

April is in the Galapegos Island’s (Ecuador) hot season, with highs of 29°c, and it is also one of the region’s driest months of the year. The Island’s plethora of beautiful and beguiling wildlife thrive during this month, so it is a great time to visit. Brazil is also a superb April destination, with temperatures reaching up to around 27°c, while Peru boasts very little chance of precipitation and highs of 28°c. 

 

COOLER WEATHER:

Europe

April is the ideal time of year for a hiking holiday in CRETE, with a beautiful landscape and temperatures averaging in the high teens. Malta can see highs in the low twenties, and the chance of rain is nearly as low as in the hottest summer months. The Balearic Islands are also warming up, with temperatures remaining in the high teens, while Portugal can boast highs of 21°c at this time of year. For CYPRUS, April is one of its driest spring months, and highs of 24°c mean it’s one of Europe’s warmest areas. 
 
It is also a great time for European city breaks, with ITALY, France, SPAIN, Austria and Germany, to name but a few countries, offering pleasant weather conditions. 
 

Far East

China is a lovely place for an April holiday, with pleasant weather, cooler than its Asian neighbours. Highs of around 21°c are complimented by a low chance of rainfall. 
 

Africa

For those seeking cooler climes, Africa can also offer the perfect destination. SOUTH AFRICA sees highs of around 23°c, similar to the Island of Madagascar, with temperatures there reaching 24°c. 
 

North America

There are some areas to the East of the USA that make for a fantastic but cooler April holiday. Some parts of California can have temperatures that reach the early twenties, with San Diego getting up to 21°c, Los Angeles to 19°c and San Francisco to 18°c. New Orleans in Louisiana is a place for those seeking slightly warmer climes, with highs of 25°c. LAS VEGAS is another excellent region of America for a May visit, while it is not too hot, with temperatures reaching around 25°c and very little rainfall, if any. Meanwhile, Chicago’s and NEW YORK’S temperatures average in the mid teens. 
 
 

SKIING HOLIDAYS:

European Ski Resorts

Ischgl in Austria is high enough to still have snow in April – the final month in their season – and they are also well known for holding a fabulous end of season party. The ski resort of Levi, in Finnish Lapland, is also still open in April, with their season usually ending at the beginning of May. 
 
 

PERFECT WINTER BREAKS:

Scandinavia

Snow can often last until May in the more Northern region of Lapland. Greenland also still offers wintry weather holidays in April, with the possibility of a husky ride in East Greenland.

Mexico – Highs of 27°c with low chance of rainfall.
Belize – Highs of 30°c with a low chance of rainfall.
Turkey – Average temperatures sit in the high teens, and April is one of the drier months.

Indian Ocean

May is the beginning of INDONESIA'S dry season, and temperatures average at around 30°c, making this month a perfect time to visit. It is also starting to get dryer in The Seychelles, where temperatures vary between 28 & 30°c. MAURITIUS is a little cooler, with highs of 27°c, though there is less chance of rainfall here. 
 

Europe

The Island of CYPRUS remains one of Europe’s hottest destinations, with May highs of around 30°c and an extremely low chance of rainfall. 
 

Africa

Much of Africa boasts hot weather during May, with countries like Egypt and Senegal boasting highs in the low 30’s, while Morocco too can reach the high twenties. 
 

Central America

May is a good time to visit this part of the world, with Mexico having average highs of 27°c, while in Belize, temperatures can reach up to 31°c. May is just before the rainier time of year for these two countries, but Costa Rica sees a sudden rise in rainfall, and should be avoided. 
 

North America

LAS VEGAS boasts highs of around 31°c, and May is a very dry time of year for the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’. For those looking for a beach holiday, MIAMI, though having more chance of rain than VEGAS, is also lovely and hot, again with temperatures reaching the low thirties. Hawaii is also fantastic for a relaxing break, reaching highs of around 28°c in May, and it is generally dry. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Europe

May is the perfect time to enjoy a European Break for those who prefer the weather a little cooler. There are many countries to choose from – ITALY (highs of 23°c), Spain and its multitude of Islands (23°c), GREECE and the beautiful Greek Islands (25°c) and Malta (23°c) all offering temperatures that average around the mid to low twenties, while areas like France (20°c), Croatia (21°c), the CZECH REPUBLIC (18°c), Austria (23°c), Germany (19°c) and Belgium (19°c) are slightly cooler places to visit. 
 

Scandinavia

Much of Scandinavia enjoys temperatures averaging in the mid teens during May. Highs in the Netherlands can reach up to 18°c, while Denmark and Norway have average temperatures of 16°c, and Sweden 14°c.  
 

Far East

While some areas of South East Asia, like MALAYSIA and VIETNAM, are best avoided, as their rainy seasons are rife, Japan and China can offer an excellent holiday in May. Parts of Japan, especially the more Southern areas, can offer highs of 24°c, although the risk of rain is a little higher than in China, which is hotter and drier, seeing temperature highs of 27°c. Singapore, too, sees one of its drier months, and with highs of 31°c, May is a great time to go.
 

Africa

Some areas of Africa, like Kenya and the Island of Madagascar, offer a cooler climate in May, with both countries having average highs of around 25°c. This time of year is great to visit the line of the equator.  
 

South America

Brazil is lovely in May, boasting highs of 26°c, while the dry season is kicking in. Peru, too, is fabulous, and although slightly cooler – with average highs of 22°c – there is even less chance of rain than in Brazil. However, please note that Peru can have quite high relative humidity throughout the year. 
 

North America

Areas of North America, like NEW YORK, Chicago and Boston are beginning to warm up, with highs in the low twenties and relatively low chance of rainfall. California’s temperatures, too, average in the low twenties, and May is a particularly dry time of the year.
 
 

OTHER COUNTRIES TO VISIT IN MAY:

  • Jordan – Highs of 29°c with a very low chance of rain.
  • Hungary – Relatively dry all year round, May sees highs of 22°c.
  • UNITED ARAB EMIRATESHigh temperatures of around 38°c and almost no chance of rain.

Far East

June is somewhat a respite in Asia’s rainy season, indeed it is one of MALAYSIA'S driest months, which, with temperatures there reaching highs of around 32°c, means that it is a great country to visit. China also sees average highs in the low thirties, and it remains one of the drier countries in Asia, while Cambodia is not the driest of its neighbours, but does not enjoy highs of 33°c. June is one of the wettest months for Japan and Vietnam, however. 
 

Europe

CYPRUS is a great place for a beach holiday in June, with highs of 34°c and very little chance of rain, while its neighbour Turkey, too, sees hotter weather, with temperatures reaching the high twenties. Much of GREECE starts hitting the thirties too, while ITALY, Malta, and parts of SPAIN also boast similar temperatures and conditions.
 

North America

June is Nevada’s driest month, and the temperature in LAS VEGAS can reach up to 36°c. Don’t forget, however, that LAS VEGAS is not on the beach, so it may feel a little too hot. Florida and Hawaii boast great weather for a beach holiday, however, with highs averaging in the low thirties. Hawaii is drier than Florida, with a very low chance of rainfall. 
 
 

Africa

It is best to avoid much of central Africa due to aggressive heat. However, Kenya and TANZANIA are exceptions to the rule, with the Kenya’s second dry season kicking in, and temperatures there reaching the mid twenties, while TANZANIA sees very little rain, if any, and boasts highs of around 28°c. Senegal, too, sees temperatures averaging in the high twenties to low thirties, again, with a low chance of precipitation.
 

Indian Ocean

INDONESIA is coming out of its wettest months, and boasts highs of 32°c. The Seychelles, too, is getting drier, and sees temperatures averaging in the high twenties. MAURITIUS is also a good place for a June break, also coming out of its wet season and with temperatures staying around the mid twenties. THE MALDIVES, however, is still deep into its rainy season, so should be avoided. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Scandinavia

Scandinavia begins to warm up as summer approaches, and by June, much of the area, including Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, sees temperatures hitting the low twenties – perfect weather for exploration.
 

Europe

Areas of Europe, including Croatia, France, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Austria and Belgium enjoy temperatures reaching the low twenties. 
 

South America

Brazil sees one of its driest months in June, and the country can enjoy highs of around 25°c. Peru is slightly cooler, with average temperatures hitting the high teens to low twenties, but it is generally dry all year round. June is also a dry month for the Galapagos Islands which sees average temperatures around the mid twenties.
 

North America & Canada

Many of America’s more popular destinations boast lovely warm weather during June, NEW YORK, Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston all enjoying temperatures averaging in the mid twenties. Be aware, however, that Chicago does have a greater risk of rainfall than other cities. Canada is also a generally good country to visit in June, with temperatures averaging at 25°c depending on the regions visited. 
 
 

OTHER COUNTRYS TO VISIT IN JUNE:

  • Lebanon – Relatively dry with highs of 29°c.
  • Morocco – Highs of 34°c and a very low risk of rain.
  • Iceland – Mild temperatures in the mid teens, but a great time to go and discover the glaciers.
 
 

COUNTRYS TO AVOID IN JUNE:

  • The Maldives – Deep into its rainy season.
  • The Caribbean – Generally quite a rainy area of the world in June.
  • Central America – Rainy season.
  • India – The monsoon season. 
  • Sri Lanka - The monsoon season.
  • The Middle East – Extremely high temperatures make it too hot. 

HOTTER DESTINATIONS:

North America & Canada

By July, most of America’s popular destinations are enjoying hot weather, with NEW YORK, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles all seeing temperatures reaching the high twenties, while MIAMI, Hawaii and New Orleans reach the low to mid thirties. LAS VEGAS, however, is particularly hot, reaching a massive 40°c, so should be avoided at this time of year.
 
Canada, too, can see highs of around 27°c in its more southern regions, including Toronto and Montreal. 
 

Europe

Much of the Mediterranean boasts fantastic and dry weather in July, with CYPRUS seeing highs of 37°c, while GREECE, ITALY, Malta and SPAIN enjoy temperatures that average in the low thirties. Portugal, Croatia and the South of France offer slightly cooler weather, with highs reaching around 28°c. 
 

Africa

Egypt offers fantastic July weather, with highs of around 35°c, and it is a particularly dry time of year for the North African country. Morocco, too, is very dry in July, but is slightly cooler, with temperatures averaging in the high twenties. 
 

Indian Ocean 

The Seychelles takes a respite between two wet seasons – July is one of its driest months. Temperatures here average in the high twenties. It is also a fabulous time to go to INDONESIA, with the archipelago enjoying one of its driest times of the year, and temperatures reaching around 32°c. THE MALDIVES is still seeing lots of rain, however. 
 

The Far East

Not all of South East Asia is great to visit during July. However, it is one of MALAYSIA'S driest times of the year, and the country sees highs of 32°c, while in THAILAND, July is before its rainiest season, with temperatures around the same as Malaysia. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Europe

Countries in central Europe, including France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and the CZECH REPUBLIC often see temperatures in June reach the mid twenties, making it a great time for a city break. 
 

Scandinavia

July is one of Iceland’s warmest months, with temperatures averaging in the mid teens. Although not the hottest place, it is a great time to enjoy the long summer days with up to 20 hours of daylight! Denmark, Norway and Sweden, meanwhile, can all see temperatures in the low twenties, and also enjoy fabulously long daytime hours. 
 

Africa 

There are a few areas of Africa that offer excellent, slightly cooler weather for a July holiday. Kenya enjoys average temperatures in the low twenties and is exceptionally dry, while the Island of Madagascar sees similar weather. SOUTH AFRICA, too, is coming out of its rainier time of year and the temperatures there generally average in the high teens. 
 

Indian Ocean

MAURITIUS is out of its wettest season and enjoys highs in the mid twenties, while on the Island of Reunion, it is a similar story. 
 

South America

Brazil sees quite dry weather in July, and enjoys temperatures that average in the mid twenties, while Peru remains quite dry, with temperatures reaching the low twenties. Chile, too, is relatively dry, although much cooler, with temperatures averaging in the mid teens.

Australia

July is a great time for skiing in the higher areas of Australia, like New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Europe

August is a peak month for Europe, with many of the countries in the region keeping their high temperatures. Southern Italy, GREECE, SPAIN, CYPRUS and Turkey all see temperatures in the thirties, while the South of France, Malta, Croatia and Portugal enjoy temperatures in the high twenties.
 

North America & Canada

August is a great month for a multi-centre trip around AMERICA, with the western states of California and Washington enjoying average temperatures around the mid twenties, while, off the coast, Hawaii sees highs of around 29°c. LAS VEGAS is getting cooler, with temperatures hitting approximately 38°c, and the weather in Colorado is relatively dry, with highs in the low thirties. Chicago, Boston and New York all enjoy temperatures in the high twenties, although August can be one of New York’s wettest months. 
 
The Southern areas of Canada, like Quebec and Ontario, can also see lovely hot weather, with highs averaging in the mid twenties. 
 

The Far East

Although much of this part of the world is well into its rainy season in August, for MALAYSIA, it is just before the beginning of its second wet season, so it is generally a good time to visit. The climate there is tropical, however, so there still is some risk of rainfall throughout the year. Temperatures tend to average in the high twenties to low thirties.
 

Africa

Egypt remains quite hot and dry in August, with highs of around 35°c. TANZANIA, too boasts a very low chance of precipitation, and enjoys highs in the upper twenties to low thirties. Morocco also remains particularly dry, and has average temperatures of 27°c.
 

South Pacific

Tahiti, or French Polynesia, sees one of its driest months in August, with highs reaching around 30°c.
 

South America

Brazil, particularly, gets quite hot in August, with temperatures averaging at around 28°c, and it is also its driest month, so is perfect for a visit this time of the year. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Europe

A generally drier month than July across the cooler countries of Europe – many can enjoy temperature highs in the low to mid twenties, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, the CZECH REPUBLIC, France and Latvia.
 

Africa

Kenya is relatively dry with temperatures averaging in the low twenties, while SOUTH AFRICA is getting warmer, with highs reaching the upper teens to low twenties.
 

Scandinavia

The Scandinavian countries can see highs hitting the low twenties, with Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Denmark averaging at around 21°c.
 

South America

There are parts of South America that offer cooler weather during August. Ecuador is relatively dry, and sees temperatures hitting the low to mid twenties. Peru and Chile are not as hot, with pleasant temperatures averaging in the high teens.
 
 

SKIING HOLIDAYS:

Australia & New Zealand

August is New Zealand’s peak skiing month, with plenty of snow in the ‘Southern Alps’. Australia’s ski resorts are still going strong.

  • Lebanon – Relatively dry, with highs of around 33°c.
  • Hungary – Can see highs of up to 28°c, with a relatively low chance of rain.
  • Mozambique – Temperatures average in the mid twenties and there is very little chance of rain. 
  • Reunion Island – Very low chance of precipitation, with highs of 28°c.
 
 

COUNTRIES TO AVOID IN AUGUST:

  • United Arab Emirates – Temperatures can still be particularly hot in this part of the world, with highs hitting around 42°c.
  • China – Right in the middle of its rainiest season.
  • Vietnam – Rainy Season.
  • Japan – Rainy Season. 

HOTTER DESTINATIONS:

Africa

Many areas of Africa offer hotter conditions in September. Countries in the North, like Egypt, are getting a little cooler after the hottest summer months, and temperatures tend to average in the low thirties. Further south, Namibia and TANZANIA are particularly dry in September, and both see highs of around 30°c.
 

Europe

CYPRUS and Turkey are still seeing highs in the mid thirties. Slightly cooler are countries like ITALY, GREECE, Portugal, SPAIN and Malta, with temperatures ranging between the high twenties and low thirties. 
 

North America

The USA in general is a great place to visit in September, with the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’ – LAS VEGAS, out of its hottest months, sees highs of around 35°c, while Hawaii enjoys dry weather, with temperatures averaging at around 30°c norm. However, September can be its wettest month, and this is also the case in New Orleans, which can be a little rainy, but sees similar temperatures to MIAMI
 

Indian Ocean

MAURITIUS and Reunion Island are great places to visit in September, with highs often reaching around 27°c. INDONESIA, too, is relatively dry, and is even hotter, with temperatures averaging in the low thirties.
 

South America

Brazil, on average, sees highs of around 30°c, and September is just before its rainiest summer months. The popular region of Rio de Janeiro is a little cooler, with temperatures in the mid to high twenties. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Africa

September is a great month to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration in Kenya’s Masai Mara, and the weather there is lovely at this time of year, with temperatures generally staying in the mid twenties, and very little chance of rain. Madagascar, too, remains pleasant, with very similar conditions to Kenya. SOUTH AFRICA begins to warm up, with temperatures hitting the high teens to low twenties, and it is coming out of its wettest time of year. Morocco is a little warmer, seeing temperatures in the mid twenties. 
 

Europe

Much of Eastern Europe is still enjoying warm temperatures around the low twenties, while the South of France is still enjoying slightly warmer weather, with highs of around 25°c. Mid September is the beginning of Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, so it’s a great time to visit there.
 

North America

Some of the more popular American destinations are starting to cool down after the hot summer and high crowds, and offer pleasant weather and a slightly quieter holiday. NEW YORK, LA, Colorado, Washington DC, Chicago and Boston all enjoy temperatures averaging in the mid twenties. 
 

Scandinavia

Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands can see highs hitting the upper teens in September, while other Scandinavian countries, like Finland and Sweden, are a little cooler, with temperatures averaging at around 15 - 16°c.
 

Far East

Much of the Far East is coming out of its rainiest season, with some areas offering very warm and relatively dry weather. China, especially the North East, is a great place to visit in September, enjoying highs of around 26°c. MALAYSIA is also a possibility, with September being just before its end of year rainy bout. Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong are best avoided. 
 

South America 

Chile is getting hotter and dryer by September, with highs reaching around 20°c. The Galapegos Islands are also particularly dry, and see temperatures of around 24°c, while Peru begins to warm up, with an average temp of 19°c.

Australia & New Zealand

The skiing season is still going strong in New Zealand in some areas of New Zealand. Australia, too, especially its Southern Regions, is an excellent destination for September skiing.

LAS VEGAS remains quite hot and dry in October, with highs of around 27°c, while New Orleans sees similar temperatures and there is a lot less chance of rain than during its summer months. Hawaii is fabulous for a relaxing beach holiday this time of year, with a relatively low chance of rain, and temperatures reaching up to around 30°c.
 

Africa

Egypt is getting slightly cooler after the heat of the summer, with highs of around 30°c, Namibia, too, sees similar temperatures and there is very little chance of rain in October, while TANZANIA is hotter, seeing highs nearer to the mid thirties.
 

Europe

Although most of Europe sees cooler weather in October, CYPRUS can still see highs of around 28°c, while parts of GREECE can enjoy temperatures averaging in the mid twenties. 
 

Asia

India begins its tourist season in October, when the rainy season finally comes to an end, and parts of the country can see highs of around 33°c.; Sri Lanka, however, should still be avoided, as it is very much in the throws of its rainy season.
 

Middle East

The sweltering temperatures of the summer are well and truly over, and, with many areas of the Middle East enjoying a particularly dry climate all year round, October is the perfect time of year for exploration. Lebanon and Jordan experience high temperatures in the high twenties, while Oman and UNITED ARAB EMIRATES can see highs hitting the mid thirties. 
 

Indian Ocean

Certain areas of the Indian Ocean offer the perfect climate for an October beach holiday. Reunion Island relatively dry, enjoying highs of around 26°c, while MAURITIUS is just as dry, and sees temperatures of up to around 27°c. For Fiji, October is the month just before its wet season, and the Island can see highs hitting around 30°c. INDONESIA, meanwhile, is still relatively dry, and can enjoy highs of around 33°c.
 

COOLER WEATHER:

North America

Much of North America is coming out of its rainiest time of year, and some parts are lucky enough to often experience an Indian summer. Atlanta in Georgia sees highs of around 23°c, while Dallas, Texas enjoys temperatures that average in the mid twenties. Meanwhile, NEW YORK can reach up to around 20°c, and LA remains quite dry, with highs also in the mid twenties. Chicago and Boston are a little cooler, temperatures there staying around the high teens.
 

Africa

Africa is a great continent to consider visiting during October. Countries like Morocco, Kenya, SOUTH AFRICA, Madagascar and Tunisia are all relatively dry, and enjoy temperatures averaging in the mid twenties. 
 

Central America

Parts of Central America begin to come out of their rainiest season in October, with Mexico enjoying a relatively dry climate, with highs reaching the low twenties. Belize and Nicaragua, however, should be avoided. 
 

Far East

Parts of the Far East are beginning to become dryer. China is one of its generally dryer areas, and parts of the country, mainly its more Southern areas, can enjoy temperatures around the low twenties. Hong Kong, too, has come out of its rainiest time of the year, and can enjoy highs in the mid to high twenties. MALAYSIA, THAILAND, Cambodia and Japan are best avoided, however, as they still see a lot of precipitation in October. 
 

Europe

Most of Europe’s traditionally warmer countries still offer generally warm and pleasant weather, with SPAIN, Malta, ITALY, Portugal and Turkey seeing highs around the low twenties. Meanwhile, the more central European countries like Germany, Hungary, Austria, Belgium and the CZECH REPUBLIC see average temperatures hitting the mid teens.

  • Australia & New Zealand – October is the last month for skiing in this part of the world.
  • Togo – Relatively dry with highs of around 30°c.
  • Scandinavia – Although this part of the world is getting colder, temperatures can reach around 10°c, and with the right clothes, the Northern European countries can be a great place for discovery even at this time of year.
  • Tahiti (French Polynesia) – Tahiti enjoys a respite between two rainy periods in October, with highs of around 31°c.

November is a good time for a beach holiday in some parts of the Indian Ocean. For THE MALDIVES, it is the beginning of the drier period, and temperatures can reach up to 27°c, while MAURITIUS is still relatively dry, with highs of 29°c. For Reunion Island, too, November is just before the beginning of the rainier season, and the country can enjoy temperatures of approximately 27°c. 
 

Far East

Cambodia and THAILAND are coming out of their rainy season in November, and THAILAND is especially dry, with both seeing high temperatures of around 30°c. 
 

North America

MIAMI is fantastic in November – far dryer then the previous Autumn months, temperatures there can reach the high twenties. Hawaii, too, offers a relatively dry climate, with highs of around 28°c. 
 
 

COOLER WEATHER:

Europe

Some winter sun can be found in parts of Europe during November, with CYPRUS still seeing highs of around 22°c, while parts of Southern SPAIN can also boast similar temperatures. Some Southern areas of ITALY also enjoy temperatures hitting the low twenties, like Catania in Sicily. Certain areas of GREECE and Portugal, too, see similar highs, as does Malta. 
 
Other generally cooler areas of Europe can begin to get quite cold in November, with Germany, France, Austria and the CZECH REPUBLIC seeing temperatures between around 5 and 10°c. However, with the right clothes, a fantastic break can definitely be had. 
 

Africa

Egypt still offers very warm weather in November, with highs averaging in the mid twenties, while, at the opposite end of the continent, SOUTH AFRICA offers similar temperatures, with an average temperatures of 23°c. Morocco and Tunisia both see highs in the low twenties, and although November is classed as one of their rainier months, it is still relatively dry. Kenya, TANZANIA and Madagascar can get quite wet this time of year, however, although the weather remains quite warm. 
 

South America

Although some parts of South America can be particularly wet in November, Peru and Chile are both relatively dry, and the fact that it is their summer means that both countries can enjoy temperatures in the low twenties. 
 

Central America

Like its southern neighbours, the weather can be very mixed in Central America during November. The wettest period tends to cease in Mexico and Nicaragua. Mexico, however, can be a little cool, with average temperatures in the mid teens. Nicaragua is hotter, with highs in the mid twenties. 
 

Far East

Although parts of the Far East, like China and Japan, can be rather chilly in November, VIETNAM and Hong Kong offer temperatures reaching up to around 25/26°c, and both countries are relatively dry this time of the year. 
 

North America

Some areas of the USA offer lovely, warm November weather. Los Angeles and New Orleans see temperatures averaging in the low twenties, while San Francisco, LAS VEGAS and Dallas enjoy temperatures in the high teens.

Some ski resorts do being to open in Europe by November, generally where there are glaciers; looking at ski resorts in France, Austria and Switzerland is the best bet.

The Caribbean

December is a fantastic month to visit the Caribbean, when the region’s rainiest season has finished. Barbados, the Bahamas and CUBA, amongst other Islands, can enjoy highs hitting the upper twenties to low thirties during this time of year.
 

Central America

Central America has come out of its rainy season and much of the area offers particularly dry weather, with temperatures in Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Belise ranging between the mid to high twenties.
 

Far East

Although parts of the Far East can get quite chilly in December, this is not the case throughout, with Cambodia seeing highs of around 30°c – and the country has come out of its rainiest months. THAILAND, too, is similarly dry, and it also enjoys temperatures rising to 30°c, while VIETNAM is a little cooler, with highs usually remaining around the mid twenties, but it is well into its dry season. Singapore and MALAYSIA are particularly wet this time of year, however. 
 

South America

Although Brazil can be quite wet, Chile sees one of its warmest and driest months in December, with highs reaching a magnificent 28°c. Peru, as usual, is also dry, and can see temperatures averaging in the mid twenties. 
 

Asia

Some parts of India, like Mumbai, can enjoy highs of 31°c, while Sri Lanka, which is coming out of its second rainy season in December, can also see similar temperatures.

Africa

Much of Africa remains dry in December, with Kenya and SOUTH AFRICA in the South and Egypt and Morocco in the North all enjoying temperatures averaging in the low twenties. 
 

North America

Hawaii can see fantastically warm weather in December, with highs of around 26°c, while MIAMI, too, can enjoy similar temperatures, with both areas remaining quite dry. 
 

Middle East

The Middle East offers a warmer climate, with both Oman and UNITED ARAB EMIRATES offering temperatures in the mid twenties, while remaining particularly dry.
 
 

SKIING HOLIDAYS:

European Ski Resorts

Many of the European ski resorts are in full swing by December, with the Pyrenees in France and the Austrian, Swiss and Italian Alps all being very popular. 
 

North American & Canadian Ski Resorts

Depending on snow fall, there are a number of ski resorts in the USA that are open from December, especially in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, California and Whistler in Canada. 
 
 

PERFECT WINTER BREAKS:

Scandinavia

December is obviously the perfect time for the elusive trip to visit Santa Claus in Lapland, Finland! Winter adventures can be had across the Baltic, with husky rides and magnificent views of the Northern Lights. Helsinki also has a fantastic Christmas market. Take warm clothes, however, as the further North you venture the colder it will be!
 

Europe

Although the weather can be quite chilly in Europe during December, crowds are often drawn to the multitude of Christmas markets on offer, especially in Germany, with towns including Strasbourg, Brussels and Munich all having particularly popular markets to help you get into the festive spirit. Temperatures in Germany, however, can remain below 5°c, so if you do decide to go, make sure you wrap up warm. 
 

North America & Canada

Many areas of North America & Canada are quite magical during the Christmas season, with NEW YORK definitely drawing in the crowds, especially for the infamous New Years Eve celebrations in Times Square on the 31st. Temps can average at around 5°c, however, so be sure to take the right clothes.

  • Mauritiania – Temperatures can reach 29°c and there is a very low chance of rain.
